Whatever Our Souls are Made Of
It was a cold and stormy morning, not raining, just misting all around me. A sharp gust of wind caught my face, and my breath. I gasped for air. I thought of him. I always think of Heathcliff, when the weather turns this way, wandering the empty moors, desperately crying her name. If you've ever crossed my path on a chilled, blustery day, you will hear me call for Catherine. Passionate Heathcliff, dark and brooding, consumed by the deepest love imaginable. I know, it doesn't end well for Heathcliff and Catherine, but the notion of his overwhelming passion shaped my ideas about love. A deep, deadly all-consuming love. Heathcliff was my first literary crush.
"Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same."
What other quotes spoke to me? I decided to gather my favorite romantic quotes from literature. Stirring words that whisper to the quietest places in my soul and make me catch my breathe. I settled on ten.
