Thankful
As I prepare my to do lists for Thanksgiving weekend; I am constantly reminded how much I have to be grateful for. Come December 1, I’m celebrating six months at Echo-Lit. Six months isn’t a very long time; but in the shadow of Covid, I am so glad to have a job. Not just any job mind you - a job I truly enjoy with folks I like and respect where I spend the majority of my time making art to assist educators and delight fellow bookish people. I am blessed and fully aware of it.
I know there are many who are struggling, and I hope that each of them have something, no matter how small, for which they can be thankful.
Me and mine are keeping close to home this weekend. While we will be gathering around the table for a Thanksgiving dinner, we’ve never been too keen on a traditional turkey meal. My guys have requested lamb chops and roast veggies, and I’m happy to oblige. My one nod to Thanksgiving tradition is a big pot of mashed potatoes - I have to have my mashed taters for Thanksgiving. I figure I’ll throw a piece of salmon on the grill for myself and we’ll call it rock and roll.
Jeanne, Chris, and I wanted to show everyone how thankful we are for each and every one of you so we’re going to give a little back. From 11/26 until 12/24 every order will include a little gift - one of our gorgeous bookmarks (randomly chosen from our three bookmark collections)!
And if that weren’t enough, we’re also going to do a giveaway this weekend!
You can win this spectacular 2021 calendar with base, handmade here in Charleston of reclaimed WV poplar by our friends at Black Locust Woodshop!
Text includes quotes from from Mark Twain, Edgar Allan Poe, Walt Whitman, and Victor Hugo. This calendar would make a fabulous teacher gift, stocking stuffer, or “why-not” gift for yourself.
